Our Projects

Thrive Family Services

We partnered with Thrive Family Services to provide funding for Keeping Children Safe - a group program to be offered in the Blue Mountains to promote care, protection and safety of children and young people. It will run for six weeks and benefit families at risk of family violence and other child protection issues.

Purpose of the program:

  • To enable parents/careers to recognise violence, abuse and neglect

  • To understand the effects on children

  • To make changes to prevent child abuse and family violence.

Elizabeth Evatt Community Legal Centre

Elizabeth Evatt Community Legal Centre offers free and confidential legal advice, serving the areas of Blue Mountains and Central Tablelands. A large percentage of their work is around issues connecting with family violence. They also give talks and run workshops for the community.

Recently Portland Catholic Social Justice Group gave a very generous donation to the Centre in order to enable two staff members to attend a most informative and beneficial National Conference in Brisbane; results of which will flow over into our community.
